UV and CO2 – the one-two punch for water quality

The hot tub in room One Pine is now being treated with ultraviolet light and carbon dioxide.

For decades, Watercourse Way has gone to great lengths to ensure that the water in our private hot tub rooms is routinely safe and of the highest quality. Our maintenance staff works diligently every day to test and balance the water so you can enjoy peace of mind while you soak. We are currently in the process of furthering that excellence in water quality through the implementation of ultraviolet light (UV-C) and carbon dioxide (CO2). The hot tubs in rooms One Pine, Two Stones, Eight Stars and Nine Bats are now being treated with UV-C and CO2 (all of our hot tub rooms are currently being treated with CO2). Over the next few months, the remaining rooms will also be enhanced with UV-C.

According to Pool and Spa News (March 2013), ultraviolet light aids in “combating recreational water illnesses such as cryptosporidium and giardia.” Water treatment through use of ultraviolet light has increased in popularity because of its “reduced chemical consumption, health advantages and environmentally friendly benefits.”

Here at Watercourse, we utilize low-pressure, high-output UV lamps. Meanwhile, CO2 is used to balance the water, paramount to sanitization. CO2 also helps lower the pH level, which makes the water more stable and allows the chlorine to be more effective. And while CO2 is more expensive than other materials used to maintain water quality, it offers additional environmental and health-related benefits.

Water is a matter of course for us, and we will constantly push for the purest, safest water quality for our clients. So feel free to relax your mind as well as your body when visiting one of our pristine private hot tub rooms. Get your soak on.
