NRDC: Protecting natural resources

NRDC3

The NRDC has helped protect the wolves of Yellowstone

The planet Earth is rife with diversity. There are billions of people with varying backgrounds, a wealth of unique animals, and a kaleidoscope of flora and fauna. But there is one thing we all have in common – the planet itself.

When a non-profit organization endeavors to protect the planet and its natural resources, that protection helps all of us. So is the case with the National Resources Defense Council. Founded in 1970, the NRDC “works to safeguard the earth – its people, its plants and animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends.”

The NRDC works alongside businesses, elected officials and community organizations on a variety of important programs, such as energy and transportation, environmental justice, land and wildlife, and urban solutions, to name a few.

“We combine the power of more than two million members and online activists with the expertise of some 500 scientists, lawyers, and policy advocates across the globe to ensure the rights of all people to the air, the water, and the wild,” the organization states on its website.

Celebrating diversity includes protecting the world that supports it. That protection is possible thanks in part to organizations like the National Resources Defense Council. Donate now.
