The Bay Area-based non-profit LifeMoves (formerly InnVision Shelter Network) has been helping homeless individuals and families throughout Santa Clara and San Mateo counties for the better part of 40 years. The charity organization features innovative programs that “combat homelessness today – and tomorrow – by teaching comprehensive life skills that help our clients achieve long-term self-sufficiency, and effectively break the cycle of homelessness.”

Homelessness is a problem that can affect anyone as job loss, family instability, soaring rents, mental-health issues and other factors can all contribute to homelessness. The issue is even more pronounced in California and especially the Bay Area, where housing prices are well above the national average. But through organizations such as LifeMoves, the problem of homelessness does not need to be a permanent one.

“The impact of LifeMoves programs and services is tremendous: typically, more than 90% of families and 70% of individuals completing LifeMoves transitional programs successfully returned to stable housing and self-sufficiency,” LifeMoves states on its website. Learn more or donate now.
