WATERCOURSE WAY NOTICE/WARNING HOT TUB, SAUNA AND STEAM ROOM USE

Physical Risks of Using the Hot Tub, Sauna or Steam Room

The use of hot tubs, the sauna and steam room will expose you to high temperatures of over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The sauna has temperatures of over 180 degrees Fahrenheit.

Also, the use of the cold plunge after the use of the hot tub may constitute a physical strain.

If you are elderly, pregnant, susceptible to heat stroke or have any health concerns, before using the hot tub, sauna, steam room and/or the cold plunge, always consult your health care provider.

Unsupervised use by children under the age of 14 is prohibited.

Long exposure may result in dehydration, which could lead to nausea, dizziness, and/or fainting. Take breaks from the hot tub and drink water before getting back in.

The use of alcohol and/or drugs increases the risks from using the hot tub, sauna and steam room. You must not use these services if you have been drinking or taking any drugs.

To protect the safety of Watercourse Way’s customers and staff, you must not use the hot tub, sauna, or steam room facilities if you have any infectious illness or disease, infection, rash, abrasion, cut, open wound or sore that may come into contact with the water, the benches, the tubs, and/or other equipment.

Exposure to Chlorine

Watercourse Way uses chlorine to disinfect its hot tubs. Although the amount of chlorine used is within the limits imposed by Santa Clara County’s Department of Environmental Health, people with sensitive skin may react adversely to the chlorine. You must not use the hot tubs if you are susceptible to reactions with chlorine.

Alcohol, Food and Glass Are Prohibited

The Palo Alto Municipal Code regulates Watercourse Way and other hot-tub establishments. The Palo Alto Municipal Code and Watercourse Way prohibit alcohol and food in the hot-tub, steam and sauna rooms. This ordinance and Watercourse Way also prohibits all glass in the hot-tub, steam and sauna rooms.

PLEASE DO NOT bring alcohol, food and glass onto our premises. If you have brought any of these items, please take them back to your car. We will check for alcohol, food and glass, including in your bags, to ensure the safety of our customers and staff and compliance with the Palo Alto Municipal Code. We may confiscate any item brought into the hot-tub, steam and sauna rooms that violate this ordinance and rule.

Other Prohibited Items

To protect the safety of our customers candles and any other item with a flame are prohibited. Also, to protect the water quality, oils and lotions are not permitted in the hot tub rooms and must not be used before using the hot tub. You must shower before using the hot tub. If you have brought any of these items, please take them back to your car.

Also, for safety reasons, no water is allowed to be placed on the sauna heaters. The use of water on the sauna heaters may create super-heated steam, which can cause severe burns.

Violation of these policies may result in the confiscation of the prohibited item, the immediate cancellation of your appointment without a refund. If you are unsure if any item or conduct is permitted, please ask the front desk attendant.

Watercourse Way assumes no liability and is not responsible for personal articles brought and/or left on the premises or in your car.

In case of an emergency, there is an intercom in each room that can and must be used to call the front desk.

I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE ABOVE NOTICES AND AGREE TO ABIDE BY WATERCOURSE WAY’S POLICIES. I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT I MUST SIGN THE WATERCOURSE WAY RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY BEFORE BEING PERMITTED TO USE WATERCOURSE WAY’S FACILITIES.
